Frequently Asked Questions about Hypnosis, Hypnotherapy
in Bedford, Milton Keynes and Luton
Will I feel differently after the session?
Suggestion therapy will have immediate effect (although it may be a
little while before you or your family notice more subtle changes.)
The feeling of relaxation and peacefulness felt after a session of
hypnotherapy lasts for some time (often hours) afterwards!
Will it work?
Your response to hypnotherapy is very individual, however, experience
and intensive training allow Sue to personalise the therapy for each
client to maximise positive results.
The most critical aspect influencing the success of
therapy is the relationship between the client and the therapist.
A good therapist will offer a free screening session, so that you
can meet prior to treatment. Ensuring the right therapy is selected and
that you feel comfortable with the therapist and confident in their
abilities.
Does it matter which therapist I choose?
Yes. They should be qualified and a member of a respected Hypnotherapy
organisation, to ensure a professional service and an ethical code of
conduct.
Will you make me do something I don't want to do?
No, you are in control at all times and you can bring yourself out of
hypnosis at any time you choose.
Should you be asked to do something which you do not
wish to do, or which is against your own moral standards, you would
ignore the suggestion and immediately bring yourself out of hypnosis.
Can anyone be hypnotised?
Yes, provided they are willing to participate and excluding those who
are mentally handicapped, or under the influence of drink or drugs.
How confidential is it?
Sue Wilson and Gary Foster are advanced member of the International
Association of Pure Hypno-analysts, whose code of conduct ensures
absolute confidentiality for clients. This confidentiality may only be
breached in potentially life-threatening situations.
In addition, the Bedford Hypnotherapy Clinic is
registered for data protection with The Department for Trade &
Industry.
AND because we're based in private offices your safety
is fully assured ... it's not as if you're visiting someone in their
home, never having met them before - when you arrive at our offices
you'll be able to relax in our reception and help yourself to
complimentary refreshments.
How long does a session last?
A session lasts between 45 minutes and 1 hour.
My problem is embarrassing, how will you handle
it?
Don't worry, there are very few symptoms and problems which have not
been covered in previous clients' therapy. Often the
symptom/fear/phobia is unusual, whereas the underlying cause is usually
far more commonplace.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes, you can bring a friend or relative on your free screening session,
however they can't attend your actual therapy sessions due to the need
for total relaxation. People under the age of 16 have to be with an
adult at all times
How do I make a booking?
So, to find out more about how hypnotherapy
can help you, come along and meet with one of us at our Bedford
